Whatever vintage collectible dishes you’re looking for, whether it’s vintage Depression glass or collectible branded dishware, Gifts and Collectibles Galore has the vintage dishes that you’re looking for.
The epitome of vintage dishware is carnival glass and Depression glass. Although they are very similar and the terms are often used interchangeably, they are not the same. However, we do sell a variety of both forms of vintage glass.
What is now known as carnival glass was first created to be the “poor man’s Tiffany,” as it emulated the Tiffany glass style, but at a much lower cost of production and therefore lower cost to purchase. However, despite the gorgeous patterns and translucent glass, it did not sell well. Nevertheless, because it was so cheap to produce, it made for a perfect prize for carnival games, which is how it got its name.
Produced even more cheaply than carnival glass, Depression glass served as free gifts to go along with other purchases in a variety of stores — even gas stations! A housewife could collect nearly an entire set of dishes for free through multiple visits to the store, and anything they couldn’t obtain this way they could order for very little from a catalog. This was produced during the Great Depression.
The fine ceramic of vintage porcelain and china is simply irresistible. The pure white ceramic, adorned with metallic inlay and hand-painted designs, creates an instant air of refined taste. These delicate pieces will bring vintage charm to any room that they adorn.
Whether you’re looking for limited-edition dishware bearing your favorite cartoon or genuine drinkware from your favorite restaurant, branded dishes are collectible hits that serve well as items on the shelf or glasses on your table.
